Defending Islam? It's Better Off Without It!

You’ve all heard of this Facebook page that was created by someone claiming to be God (wal 3eyathu bellah) well I don’t think he believes he is in fact God, the guy’s just mocking Muslims mostly, and every other non-Muslim who believes in God.

The thing is, everyone is starting those groups that are trying to spread the word, and underline “spread the word”, about it, to get people to report the page as inappropriate and have it deactivated by Facebook, Farah talked about it here, and I have to say I agree with her that this type of people should be ignored rather than publicized, but what irritates me most is the so-called Muslims who actually join the groups or become fans of the page in order to get to comment on its posts. I checked out the page, what this guy writes is absolutely appalling, but it didn’t upset me as much as what people who are supposed to be defending their religion wrote; comments on the posts including the dirtiest most disgusting words, cursing the guy (and the female members of his family I’m sorry to say) as a way of standing up to him!!!

I cannot understand how saying that you want to (let’s put it this way:) perform sexual acts on the guy’s mother is your way of expressing anger towards the guy! Or defending Islam and letting him know that you don’t accept it when he insults God.

I will tell you this: if this is your way of sticking up to your religion and defending it, then Islam is better off without your help, your shallowness is what's destroying us.

I agree with both of
ignoring these people is the best thing to do

The last paragraph say it all, Islam or any religion don't need this kind of support

You aren't defending Islam when you go around and curse those who attack it and you aren't defending God doing so, whats the guy/girl mother or sister has anything to do in what he is doing as far as we know they might be people who are comitted to Isalm or their religion, and oh god the number of groups that has been created to stop against him, if they ignored him from the beginning then he won't achieve a single fame.
Sorry for the long comment

I agree with the part where you shouldn't join these pages to start cursing the guy the way some so-called religious people do!!! but i don't see any harm in reporting the page and get it shut...you know min bab 2nkar el munkar!! l2nu bsara7a mish tabee3i elle katbu!!! 2sh3ar badani!!!!

Though I am agnostic, and I think all religions are a human invention, I don't support having those groups, because they are simply hateful.

But maybe we should ask ourselves why those groups are created? What are the stimuli for them? I think Islam is another religion that promotes violence and hate of the "other". I was raised muslim and I know I am talking about. And the above is the same for other religions.

Maybe Islam is a little bit more drastic in this. So I suggest we take our bibles, Qurans, and Talmuds and put them in a museums or something to remind us with a dark era. Then you’ll not have such groups I guarantee you that 

Whisper, dayman el 2loob 3nd ba3dha ;)

Ahmad Hamdan, not at all be my guest and comment as much as u like, and thanks for stopping by.

Ruba, I didn't say we shudn't report them bel 3ax we have to, but telling people about it makes it a big important deal, and it's not, these people are everywhere, this one just happened to create a page about it, spreading the word about his page made it more popular.

Muslim on your ID, Islam definitley does not prmote violence or hate! i don't know how you were raised but u seem to have it misunderstood for something else, it's not about the upbringing, for all I know your parents might be wrong, and you need to do some research, our prophet definitley promoted peace and nothing else, and the message of Islam is about worshipping one God, it's not about who you should love or hate, it's not about fighting wars or killing people, the rules and laws are to organize our lives, but the core of it is in worshipping one God, and believing that everything you do, you will be held accountable for, you can't possibly assume that a murderer, rapist, theif... etc. will have the same end as someone who never hurt anybody, and this is what Islam is all about: how we should deal with each other. in my opinion this is the most important part of this religion.
Welcome to my blog by the way

I understand what you said and I am aware of it. And as I told you I was raised strictly as Muslim; I prayed 5 times, read Qur’an, fast and also dreamed about sleeping with 72 virgins … etc. This beautiful model crumbled when I started asking fundamental questions like: What is the origin of the universe? Why are we here? I also asked other less philosophical questions like: Why are women suppressed in Islam? Why aren’t men prosecuted in our societies when they have sex before marriage as opposed to extreme prosecution in case of women? Can we be moral without religion? … and the list is long. I invite you to ask those fundamental questions that they didn’t teach us to ask at school. It’s called critical thinking. This is the road to truth, not man-made scripts that are unquestionable. Think about all the scientific achievements of human beings. They are all the result of extensive research, scrutiny and doubt.

I know that Islam and other religions teach us a lot of great and amazing values like love, generosity, faithfulness and many others, but the problem in religion is that it’s defective by design in the sense that it inherently encourages us to “hate” the other. Why don’t we all embrace Judaism or Baha’i faith since they are both monotheistic? Why Islam? Why Christianity and so on? You see my point?

Try to think about the atrocities and miseries that religion brought to humanity. I am not saying that other ideologies didn’t bring that. There are cases where atheist /communist ideologies brought suffering to humanity like Marxism. Let’s not forget that Hitler himself was arguably and atheist, but my point is religious conflicts throughout human history brought most of the suffering.

Before you start talking about opression of women, you need to differentiate between Islamic rules of conduct and the traditions of societies, as I told you, you need to do some research, the prosecution for pre-marital sex applies EQUALLY to both men and women, punishments in Islam are intended for both sexes and there is no such thing as seperate rules for men and women! and i'm not just talking about sex before marriage, this extreme prosecution of women comes from old Arab traditions and ways of thinking which are very strict and most of the time injust towards women, it's the culture not the religion that does that, Islam definitley regards men and women are equal and that they were "created of a single soul" the differences in Islamic legislations emerge when we are talking about issues such as pregnancy, child birth, menstruation and so forth, which are basically clear differences between genders right?

And about embracing other religions, Islam came to complete them, to correct what was changed by humans, it is comprehensive in the way that we believe in all of the prophets that came before Muhammad PBUH, Islam concludes all that came before it, and correct critical thinking should in the end lead you to Islam because the questions you asked can be answered easily and everyone who tells you never to answer these questions is wrong, you'll find an answer to everything if you search the right places, the question that you should not ask in Islam are the ones that will do you no good, things like "what does God look like?" and other questions that are clearly meaningless.

check my replies.

Before you start talking about opression of women, you need to differentiate between Islamic rules of conduct and the traditions of societies

***it’s not a coincidence that the vast majority of women suppressed around the world come from largely Muslim countries: All Arab countries, Afghanistan, Pakistan, and the list is very long. Of course Islam says that you need to treat adultery equally for men and women, but in a lot of other occasions, it intensifies the superiority of man over woman. Read Quraan to know what I am talking about, but this time read it in scrutiny and doubt, which I question that you can do it. I read it more than 200 times already***

as I told you, you need to do some research

*** its’ obvious that you need to do some research not me. Since your arguments stem from postulates and presumption taken from a rigid scripture (Quraan in this case) that you don’t even think about scrutinizing or questioning, simply because you were taught in school that it is ***

... Islam definitley regards men and women are equal and that they were "created of a single soul"

***
What’s your proof concrete scientifically backed up evidence that we’re created from a single soul? Don’t’ tell me Quraan please or Bible! Wrong my friend! The best convenient theory that we have until now is evolution. Saying that we came from a one soul is an insult to 80% of Nobel laureates who are responsible for your well being and welfare.

***
Your statement is defective by design. How can you say that “Islam came to complete them?” Again, another buzzword that I heard it many times by my incompetent “tarbeya islameyya” teacher over the years This is blasphemous by the way, because you’re implying that God makes mistakes and religion evolves. Which is so insulting to God! God does no mistakes and whatever the almighty creates is perfect from the first time. God does not have trial an error. I think we’re making progress: you’re believing in evolution in a away.

Wow your comment is even longer than my original post. Well let me put it this way, I'm free to believe whatever I want to believe, and so are you, I'm free to write whatever I want in my own space, and so are you, I'm convinced with my religion, you're not, I'm happy that way, I do think about it, a lot actually, al hamdulellah I'm fully satisfied, I'm extremely comfortable, I'm not inviting you to become a genuine Muslim, and I didn't force you to read my blog, nor did I try to convince you of my beliefs. and to correct you, a3outhu bellah enni akoun lamma7et that God made mistakes (I did say people changed the religions that God taught his prophets) so I'm sorry but I'd rather insult those Nobel laureates by saying something Islam has taught me, than to say something that was mentioned in the Quraan is wrong, because I think it's correct .
